Why I built Vendor Creative
When I started selling at markets, I could tell you what I sold but not what I made. My costs were scattered across receipts, my stock counts lived in my head, and Saturday nights meant guessing whether the day was worth it.
Then I started building gift baskets around my jam. Each basket mixed my own jars with items I bought in, and I needed to know exactly what went into every one, what it really cost me and how much I made on each sale. A spreadsheet couldn't keep up with that.
Checkout was its own headache. I didn't want to pay for an expensive terminal, so I'd ring up a sale in one app, then open my phone and type the same price again just to take debit or credit. Double entry, a line of customers, and mistakes waiting to happen.
So I built a system to run my own booth: cost every jar down to the lid, pack exactly what I need, ring up sales fast with the price entered once and sent straight to Square for card payment on a reader or my phone, and see my real profit when I get home. Other vendors kept asking what I was using. Now you can use it too.
